Logitech G Pro Gaming Headset Review

Logitech G Pro Gaming Headsets

For gamers, not only the exciting gameplay and the realistic graphics of the games are in the foreground when it comes to their favorite games. With many games, the corresponding soundtrack is a particular highlight, and you want to enjoy the sound effects that create the atmosphere as clear as possible and with high quality. Moreover last but not least, in multiplayer games, not only it is more exciting to hear the sound at full volume.

Also, you want to converse with your teammates as clearly as possible, both hearing the sound clearly and making sure that your teammates hear your voice.

Therefore, choosing the right gaming headset is not always easy for almost all gamers. In this article, we would like to introduce you to the Logitech G Pro Gaming Headsets and show why you are making a good choice if you choose these Swiss headphones.

Who is Logitech?

Who is Logitech?

Logitech International SA is an international computer accessories manufacturer based in Apple, Switzerland, with its operational headquarters in Newark, California.

The best-known products are computer mice and keyboards. Logitech was founded in 1981 by Swiss Daniel Borel, Pierluigi Zappacosta, and Giacomo Marini on a farm in Apple, Switzerland.

The company develops and sells peripheral devices for PC control, video communication, music, and smart homes. These include keyboards, computer mice, tablet accessories, webcams, Bluetooth speakers, and universal remote controls.

The name Logitech is based on the French word for software (logiciel) because the company initially wanted to make software.

Logitech manufactures peripherals and computer accessories for the global market, such as mice, keyboards, speakers, headsets, webcams, joysticks, steering wheels, and remote controls. In 2004 MX 1000 launched the world’s first laser mouse.

In 2010, sales were $2.363 billion. The company is listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange and has been listed on the NASDAQ since 1997.

In Japan, the products are sold under the name Logicool to avoid confusion, since in Japan there, Logitec (without h), founded in 1982, also deals in computer accessories but has had the name registered in 1974.

Logitech G Pro in detail: High-quality headset with convincing features

The Logitech G Pro has a high-quality steel headband. The headband is also processed with so-called “memory foam,” which adapts to your head shape and remains in the appropriate form.

This also increases the wearing comfort and is very pleasant. The fork is made of aluminum, and the ear pieces are made of beautifully finished synthetic leather, which fits comfortably in the ears and is never annoying or uncomfortable.

1. Overall Quality

Logitech G Pro in detail: High-quality headset with convincing features

Overall, the quality is robust and stable, and you don’t have to expect any significant wear or damage. The microphone is light, flexible, and bendable.

You will also find that the headsets are relatively light, do not exert pressure, or otherwise become uncomfortable when playing.

A disadvantage in the processing is only the cord cable of the headphones. With a length of around two meters, the cable is sufficiently long, but you will notice again and again that the cable can produce some unpleasant noises such as crackling or hissing when playing.

The cable also has volume and microphone controls. It would have been better and more convenient to attach these to the headset rather than the cable, but that can be overlooked.

2. USB Sound Card

A great feature that few gaming headsets have is the USB sound card that comes with the headset. Settings you created can be saved on the card and called up again for the next session.

Especially when you switch between different games, it is convenient if you have the best possible or preferred setting directly available for each game and can immediately call it again via the USB card.

This also avoids the problem of forgetting an optimal configuration and having to rediscover it laboriously. You’ll also discover some preset profiles of actual pro gamers on the map.

As already mentioned, the microphone of the Logitech G Pro Gaming Headset is a particular highlight, and the 6 mm microphone can be easily removed and used freely. It is also very flexible and can be easily bent in all possible directions. The quality is really excellent, and even subtle noises and whispers are perfectly understandable at the other end of the line.

3. Top Class Sound Quality

The sound is first-class, and music and every sound effect are reproduced flawlessly and clearly, no matter how detailed. Even with very sound-intensive games, you can enjoy a fantastic atmosphere here. With the Logitech G Pro Gaming Headset, you can also enjoy music comfortably.

So you can’t complain about the sound in any way, and the headsets are first-class in terms of both sound quality and quality and stand out pleasantly from most comparable products in the same price range.

4. Irresistible Price Range

Irresistible Price Range

Fortunately, you don’t have to dig too deep into your pocket for the Logitech G Pro Gaming Headset, so these headphones are an excellent and professional choice even for average budgets.

Another minor and forgivable disadvantage might be that the headsets cannot be folded and, therefore, are not necessarily perfect for transport. However, this can be overlooked due to the numerous advantages, the convincing features, the excellent sound, and the fair price.

5. Excellent Headphone Bass

Overall, there’s really nothing to complain about here. On the contrary, the headphones’ bass sounds excellent, and there is rarely any hissing or rumble. The sound depth is also incredible, and even in games with a lot of complex sound effects, you will feel right in the middle of the action with the Logitech G Pro Gaming Headsets.

Also, there is a great atmosphere when playing. Soundtrack-heavy games, in particular, come into their own here, and of course, the headphones are also above average for listening to music.

6. Microphone Quality

Microphone Quality

The microphone reproduces the voice as refreshingly clear and transparent. Both in Teamspeak and when recording recordings, you can see that the manufacturing process was clean, and there were almost no disturbing noises.

The only thing to be aware of is that the microphone is relatively sensitive, so be careful not to shout too much and avoid any background noise in the room.

7. Build Quality

Gamer headsets like the Logitech G453 are known for having more durable construction than the G450. Considering that the overall design is the same, we expect the headband and ear cups to withstand accidental drops without sustaining damage. The difference in the ear cup coating between the two designs is most noticeable.

As you use the G433 over a couple of months, the mesh-like fabric will wear and tear and won’t look as good as the G-Pro, which has a more traditional matte finish. In contrast to G433, they don’t include an extra cable in the box, which reduces their durability. It is not a deal breaker, but since this is the Pro edition of an old design, you will have to purchase one for yourself.

The steel processing of the head part is high-quality and stable, and the headphones sit perfectly on the head. Here, too, little is left to be desired, and the headphones sit perfectly and comfortably on the ears, even during longer sessions, without irritating.

8. Treble Accuracy

Treble Accuracy

It is a good performer in the treble range. They exhibit quite an uneven treble response, but overall they have a well-balanced response. The low-treble down 1.5dB and the dip around 6KHz will affect vocals and lead instruments’ detail and brightness.

These headphones may also sound slightly sibilant due to the narrow peak around 10Khz. Cymbals and vocals will most likely be affected by this.

9. Overall Functionality & Stereo Imaging

Logitech G Pro gaming headset is known for its quality sound and decent overall buildup. It is impressive how well the Logitech G Pro X performs stereo imaging.

As a result of the weighted group delay falling below the audibility threshold, the bass and treble are tight and transparent. Objects like voices and footsteps should be accurately placed in the stereo picture because the L/R drivers are well-matched in amplitude, frequency, and phase response. You may see a different result with your unit compared to ours.

10. Interface Of Headset

Interface Of Headset

The G Pro headset is a 3.5 mm headset, so it has no additional features. One of the essential parts of the system is the microphone. For the price, its performance is as good as you’d expect it to be. I’ve already mentioned the overall design, which is very good.

G Pro voice recording was used to correspond with co-workers on video chat software during an experiment. Whatever I was saying always had a bit of fuzziness due to a slight buzz in the background.

There was no noticeable interference with my speech, but it was noticeable. While you won’t mind it while playing multiplayer, if you plan on appearing on a podcast shortly, you might want to invest in a separate mic.

Pros and Cons

Like every product, Logitech has some pros and cons.

Pros

  • Remarkable Headsets
  • Impeccably Clear Recording Quality
  • High-quality processing
  • Equalizer profiles on the USB sound card
  • Remarkable Functionality
  • In games, excellent audio performance and positional accuracy are provided.
  • Recordings are of high quality using a detachable mic.

Cons

  • Slight interference from the cord cable
  • Headset not foldable
  • A lackluster bass response
  • Lack of wireless functionality
  • The headsets are expensive.

Conclusion

With the Logitech G Pro, Logitech from Switzerland has a powerful and convincing gaming headset on the market, which can also come up with a fair and affordable price for every ambitious gamer.

Powerful bass and an overall absolutely clear and good sound are particularly noticeable. But that’s not all. Sound recordings can also be recorded using the microphone at very high quality. The recordings with the pleasantly sensitive microphone are also pleasing.

Custom settings can be saved to USB and are immediately available again for the next session. A little less positive is the cable, which can sometimes cause some interference, and the headset is also a bit bulky to transport. Overall, gamers make an excellent choice with the Logitech G Pro regarding first-class gaming headphones.
